Le Blés de Chanel – High Jewelry Collection

Le Blés de Chanel – High Jewelry Collection

As the renowned House of Chanel reveals their latest high jewelry collection, inspired by the iconic perfume Chanel Number 5 and its 100th Birthday, I fondly remember the unveiling of another of the House’ revered High Jewelry collection.

100th Birthday of

Chanel Number 5

The collection was named Les Blés de Chanel and was inspired and dedicated to Coco Chanel’s relation to Wheat, a stock of which has still a special place in her apartment at Rue Cambon in Paris. Her connection to Wheat is said to be symbolic with her being born in the month of August during harvest time and wheat representing goodness and abundance.

The special event, that I was privileged to attend, took place at the famous hotel Ritz in Paris located at the most beautiful architectural square in the world – Place Vendôme.

The historic and regal Hotel Ritz had recently opened its majestic doors after a USD 450 million immaculate makeover.

In honor of Coco Chanel, the hotel’s loyal guest for over 30 years, part of the Place Vendome at the foot of the hotel was embedded in wheat sheafs. At the Ritz, Coco Chanel’s famous suite reminiscent of her personally decorated suite at the time, housed the Le Blés de Chanel collection where jewelry master pieces were regally and beautifully displayed. Sparkles of beautiful gems, in shiny gold settings, amidst Wheat sheafs masterfully laid out.

For a moment, I closed my eyes and felt the warmth of the sun rays, sparkling through the golden sea of wheat before an August harvest.

Being part of this beautiful event and witnessing the talent behind the House of Chanel I became once again immersed in the myth of Coco.
